RST: PMS, New Jersey, grad present, plants, and winefest

Thanks to McGriddle Pants, it is once again, Random Shit Tuesday!

But don't get too excited. I currently hate life and the whole entire goddamn world, so I'm pretty sure this is going to be a pretty bitchy RST. Enjoy.

My randomness...

I'm PMS-ing. Can you tell? What do you mean, yes? What exactly are you implying? Are you calling me a bitch? Well let me tell you something, bi-otch...

Okay, sorry. I had to get that out of my system. I'm better now (I think). I apologize for the name calling. Hope you can forgive me. I'm a little bit cranky. I haven't eaten yet today (yeah, I know, it's 4:30pm, what of it?), my internet is being spastic and my food adventures this past weekend have left me with cranky bowels. Oh! And my boobs have painfully swollen to the size of grapefruits and I'm bloated. You know what? How 'bouts we just move on?

♠ Dear New Jersey:
You see this?

This is the traffic sign indicating a roundabout, otherwise known as a traffic circle. When you place one of these signs on your roads, you are indicating to motorists that they will momentarily be entering a roundabout, again, otherwise called a traffic circle (remember this. This is important. You'll see). Now, take a look at that sign, Jersey... See how it's round and see how the arrows indicate that the traffic will be moving around or about the circle? In one direction? Do you see? Got it?

Okay, now, wouldn't you think that by placing one of these signs on your roads, some random, out-of-state driver, let's say from New York, for instance, could expect to enter an intersection pretty much shaped like this:
And not, for example, something like this? Something that is decidedly not a circle:

Now, by no means am I a traffic engineer, or whoever the hell it is that gets paid the big bucks to design roads, but I'm pretty sure that that bottom shape is not a circle. You know what? I'm an art teacher, and I can say for a fact that that bottom shape is not, in fact, a circle. So why, New Jersey, why, for the love of my sanity, would you place a sign at an intersection indicating a roundabout when what you really mean is that traffic will be coming at you from every direction imaginable, with no clear right-of-way indicated and at speeds fast enough to cause whiplash? Seriously, Jersey, you can't just be throwing those signs up all willy-nilly. People could get hurt! I think I made my point.

♥ I gots myself a graduation present this past weekend! Wait, let me rephrase that, somebody gots me a graduation present (the other way made it sound like I had bought it for myself, which I hadn't). Now, because I'm too lazy to take an actual pic of the present, I'm going to steal some from the Etsy shop the gift was from...

Ta-da!

Pretty, right? I can't wait to wear it! Okay, now because I'm super nice and feeling generous and starting to like (but not love, oh no, we're not back to that point yet) the world again, I'm going to pay it forward, so-to-speak, and offer a... GIVEAWAY!!! Shhh... in some circles, that's considered a dirty word. Risky Beads snuck in a cute pair of earrings with my gift. Again, they're super-cute, but... their just not quite my style. Here's a pic:

GIVEAWAY EARRINGS!!!

You can click on them to get a better view. See? Super cute, however, I don't do pink... or yellow, so now I'm passing them on to you, well, one of you! I may be generous, but I'm still poor, so this offer is only available to those of you who live in the U. S. of A. Here's how to enter:
  1. Follow me. Update: And let me know that you're a new follower in the comments section. I'm slow and might not catch on otherwise. If you're already a follower, just remind me. (1 entry)
  2. Comment. Leave a comment below telling me about your most favorite musical group/artist/album right now (I'll try not to judge you for it. Again, I said I'll try. My current fave new album is Brothers by The Black Keys). (1 entry)
  3. Refer a friend. You can refer a friend to this here giveaway, but they must do either (or both) #1 or #2, and they must tell me that you referred them, otherwise it doesn't count. You can refer as many friends as you want, but you can only earn the extra entries once. (2 entries)
So, for those of you a little slow on the uptake... What's the total number of entries you can earn? Yes, that's right, four. Okay, got it? Good. A winner will be randomly selected, so don't try to bribe me. You can enter until next Monday, June something-or-other, at midnight (EST). I will announce the winner on next Tuesday's RST. If you have any questions, email me. You can find my email address here. If you can't figure out how to find my email address, well, you're on your own on that one.

♦ I picked up a playmate this weekend for my Lucky Bamboo plant and I settled on names. Meet...

★ What happens at Wine Fest, stays at Wine Fest. Or not. I discovered some interesting pics on my camera after Wine Fest. I think it would be safe to say that I was under the influence at the time these were taken since I can't quite recall the subject...

Exhibit A:

I'm not entirely sure what this is a picture of since I don't know any of the people in it. I can only imagine that it's a photo documenting the quality people that show up to Wine Fest. More specifically, this guy:

Notice the double-fisting. And did you see how nicely his pink shirt compliments the pinkness of his belly? I can only imagine that the keg he is brewing is about 9 months along now. (If you click on the first pic, you can probably see the corn dog he was chowing down on. Nice.)

There, that wasn't so bad, was it? Now, don't forget about that giveaway.

I'm trying to get the kid in my belly to like pretty much anything other than Barney/bright characters/Raffi, so I'm playing a variety of awesome music for him or her. Current favorites (judging from the kicking when I put them on) are the Beatles and Paul Simon.

I just added you to my RSS reader. And my favorite album these days is The Day After Everything Changed by Ellis Paul. Does that give me two entries?
